I have been without a kitchen for three weeks now. If you follow me on Instagram then you know that we recently bought a house and then decided to gut the kitchen and re-do it.
Eating out for three weeks may sound like fun to some, but I honestly will throw up if I ever see a slice of pizza again or eat another bowl of cold cereal, haha 🙂

Which is why I am posting this recipe for easy bubble-up pizza casserole! Because I secretly wish that I could be eating this for dinner instead of take-out.
Air Fryer Biscuits Pizzas Easy 10 Minutes
It’s essentially a casserole, baked in one pan, that uses refrigerated flaky biscuits (like Pillsbury) as the base of the casserole. Pile on some toppings and bake it up until the biscuits are nice and fluffy.
I have this taco biscuit casserole already on the blog and figured it was time to share my pizza version with you all!
Pillsbury Refrigerated Biscuits – This is the base of the casserole. You can buy whatever version you want of the biscuits; flaky, buttermilk, homestyle, etc. Make sure that there are 8 biscuits in the can. You will cut each biscuit in half, and then cut each half into four smaller pieces. This will ensure that the biscuits cook all the way through during the cook time.
Grands!® Mini Pizzas
Mini Pepperoni – The mini size does better in this dish because of the smaller biscuit pieces. But if you can’t find the minis or would rather get the whole pepperoni (which are cheaper) then make sure you at least cut the pepperoni in pieces. Or leave them whole and I am sure it’ll still be great!
Jarred Pizza Sauce – Yes you can make your own but buying a jar of it is so convenient and easy. I love the Prego brand or Classico brands of pizza sauce.
Mozzarella Cheese & Parmesan Cheese – Normally I am a fan of shredding your own cheese but for the purpose of ease in this casserole, the pre-shredded stuff does just fine. That’s what I always use for this. As far as the parmesan cheese, I prefer to shred some from a wedge, but you can also buy it pre-shredded or use the powdered stuff that comes in the green can.

Basil & Garlic Powder – These are the seasonings that we prefer but they can easily be changed. If you love Italian Seasoning then use that instead. Don’t like garlic powder, then leave it out. Want fresh garlic, go ahead and use fresh. Options are endless and can be customized to your family’s liking.
Pizza Casserole made with fluffy biscuits, pizza sauce, mini pepperoni, seasonings, and cheese! So easy to make and ready for dinner in just 30 minutes.
If the biscuit dough is gooey and not done, then that means the casserole did not bake long enough. Mine cooks in 23 minutes but some oven may take longer. Check the center with a toothpick for doneness.
Cheddar Bay Biscuit Pizza Crust
I prefer the mini pepperoni but if you have the whole pepperoni, you may want to chop it up slightly. Or you can leave it whole and I'm sure it will still be great.
I'd love to see it! You can share it with me on @blog and follow on Pinterest @together-as-family-blog-recipes or Facebook @blog for more! This deep dish biscuit pizza has all of the great flavor of a traditional deep dish pizza made easier with a homemade biscuit dough crust!

Pizza is one of my top four all-time comfort foods (along with macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, and a burger and fries) – it’s something that I could easily eat enthusiastically every single day. When we have pizza (ordered or homemade) – it’s a relatively thin crust with lots of cheese and pepperoni (and sometimes sausage, too!). However, I always loved deep dish pizza. While there aren’t any places near us that make a great version, I’ve gone the homemade route a number of times, and it’s always a huge hit.

However, sometimes you want a quick pizza, you don’t want to deal with yeast, and you are craving that flaky, wonderful deep dish pizza crust. This deep dish biscuit pizza is the ultimate answer – so easy and bursting with loads of flavor!
Awhile back, I came across a video on Facebook for a biscuit-based pizza and made it the following weekend. I thought it might be a good recipe to have as a quick shortcut, using refrigerated biscuit dough. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed – I thought the crust was much too bread-y, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce. So, I started to brainstorm some alternatives, and this amazing pizza was the result!
First, I started with a homemade biscuit dough instead of the canned refrigerated version. It just flat-out tastes better, and I didn’t have the issue with feeling like you were eating pizza on top of a massive piece of bread. It’s still a significant time saver over yeast, so win there! Next was the sauce… I went back and used the recipe from my original deep dish pizza recipe because it’s so incredibly good. It turns out to be the perfect consistency every time! I then layered on the usual suspects – mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage and some Parmesan cheese on top for good measure.

I made two of these for dinner on Sunday and they were absolutely devoured. I think there may have been two pieces left? Everyone raved and agreed that it was a heads and tails improvement over my previous deep dish biscuit pizza.
I’m so thrilled to have this easy shortcut for nights when I’m craving pizza but don’t have the time or energy to whip up a yeast-based crust. I just need to stock my freezer with some pizza sauce and I’ll be set!

This pizza has all of the great flavor of a deep dish pizza made easier with a shortcut crust made with homemade biscuit dough!

If you’re pressed for time and want to make homemade pizza in a hurry, I love the easy shortcut of starting with biscuit dough. I really love this super delicious and cheesy comfort-food dinner.
The pizza has a one-bowl buttermilk biscuit dough crust pressed into a baking sheet. I love it so much because I plop the bowl on a scale, and weigh everything directly in. Just tare the scale (or power off and back on to reset the weight to zero) between ingredients. Saves dirtying so many measuring cups.
Store bought pizza sauce eliminates another step (and you can even swap in jarred marinara sauce without a noticeable difference, if that’s what you have on hand!).
Bacon And Sausage Breakfast Pizza
Yes you can! And biscuit dough actually makes an amazing crust. All you have to do is press the dough into a baking sheet. Parchment paper makes clean-up a breeze. Wet your hands a bit with water first to prevent the biscuit dough from sticking.
I personally am committed to homemade biscuit dough because it tastes worlds better (and my recipe below is so easy) but you *could* use this technique with commercial biscuit dough from a can.

Biscuit dough is SO much simpler than dealing with yeast dough. The difference between the two is ingredients. In bread-style pizza dough, yeast is the leavener. In biscuit dough, it’s baking soda and/or baking powder. There’s butter in biscuit dough, and olive oil in pizza dough. Then of course there is a big difference in technique.
Easy Biscuit Pizza
Yeast-based homemade pizza dough isn’t difficult per se, but it requires planning ahead, kneading, rising, shaping, resting and rolling out. Not to mention a kitchen covered in flour and bits of dough.
My biscuit crust requires only one bowl, and is simply stirred together and pressed into the pan. This eliminates all typical pizza dough steps (including using a rolling pin). It couldn’t be easier.
I layer my pizza with pizza sauce, seasoned ground beef, pepperoni and lots of mozzarella cheese. I love to finish it with fresh basil, too.
Mini Biscuit Pizzas
This is super quick and easy, and a fun recipe the kids love to get involved in. Here’s what you need to do:
Need a side dish? Pizza and salad go together like… two things that go perfectly together. I’m partial to keeping things easy on a weeknight with mixed greens, chopped cucumber and tomatoes, and croutons. I sprinkle it all with salt to season, then squeeze on the juice of half a lemon and give it a little drizzle of olive oil. Toss just before serving.
