I'm here to tell you that not only do crescent rolls work as a pizza crust, but they are also an amazing compliment to the hearty pizza toppings.
HOW TO MAKE PIZZA WITH CRESCENT ROLLS Crescent roll deep dish pizza is made by pressing crescent roll dough into the bottom of a greased cast iron skillet. The dough is baked for five minutes and then filled with pizza toppings before heading back into the oven to finish baking. See below for detailed recipe instructions.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A CAST IRON SKILLET? For this particular recipe, I highly recommend using a cast iron skillet. A cast iron skillet has the high sides necessary to make a deep dish pie and is naturally non-stick. If you prepare this pizza in a baking dish or other oven-safe skillet, results may vary.
WHY IS THERE NO CHEESE ON CHICAGO-STYLE PIZZA? Actually, there is cheese on a Chicago style pie, it's just not on top like you may be used to. The toppings on a Chicago style pizza are layered in a deep dish crust with the cheese on the bottom and the tomatoes on top. Give it a shot, I think you'll love it!
HOW DO YOU EAT CHICAGO STYLE DEEP DISH PIZZA? Hearty, deep dish, Chicago-style pizza is a fork and knife kind of meal. You can use your hands, but the thick toppings lend themselves to using utensils.
