Faster than ordering and waiting for it to be delivered, or going to the grocery store and buying a frozen one, or rolling out your own pizza dough and making one from scratch any day.

The best tortillas we find for these tortilla pizzas are the 8 or 10 inch “gordita style.” We’ve used burrito style, whole wheat, and corn tortillas, and these ones just work the best.

That’s not to say you can’t use whatever tortilla you have on hand or prefer. We’ve just done extensive pizza research (it’s such a hard life), and we found this style and size to be the best.

I can’t tell you how many of these tortilla pizzas we have made over the last several years. I mean, I was basically living on them for dinner pretty much daily when Matt started teaching evening classes and our first son was going to bed around 9pm.

While I wouldn’t assemble my tortilla pizza ahead of time to bake later, I would assemble and freeze it. Wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator, then bake as directed.

While the instructions are written for the oven, you can easily make this in thetoaster oven(toast for 5 minutes) orair fryer (350ºF [177ºC] for 6-8 minutes).

My boys love pizza and Mexican food so it isn’t a surprise that one of their favorite meals is this Crispy Tortilla Mexican Pizza. They probably eat this Mexican pizza once a week and I am ok with that because it is super easy to make and topped with good-for-you ingredients! And when I say easy, I mean 15 minutes easy…you can’t beat that!

The crustof the tortilla pizza is, you guessed it, a flour tortilla! You don’t have to roll out any pizza dough for this Mexican pizza. See, I told you it was easy! We like to use Old El Paso’s Restaurant Grande Flour Tortillas because they are huge and great for making this Mexican pizza. You can make smaller Mexican tortilla pizzas by using regular flour tortillas. Both work great!

Hawaiian Tortilla Pizza With Ham And Pineapple

We crisp up the tortillas in the oven and then top them with Old El Paso’s Vegetarian Refried Beans, salsa, and shredded cheese. They go back in the oven for a hot minute, just until the cheese is melted, and then we top them with all of our favorite toppings. When it comes to tortilla pizza, our favorite flavor is margherita: a great pizza sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, and fresh basil. But you can customize this any way you like! The only thing to keep in mind? Chop the toppings very small, and don’t overload the pizza. Because a tortilla is not as strong as a standard crust, you’ll need small and light toppings.
