Lo-Dough turns pizza into a super food. It's little wonder that low calorie pizza recipes have become so popular - the best food ever without the the calories? Now that's an idea we can get behind.
Did you know? your average Friday night takeaway contains as many as 2000 calories and 209g carbs. It is for this reason many of us give up on pizza altogether when making new (and healthier) lifestyle decisions.

Being naturally high in fibre (one third of your recommended daily intake in fact), Lo-Dough helps you to control blood sugar levels, maintain a healthy weight, lower cholesterol and normalise bowel movements. The result is a thin and crispy pizza that’s genuinely good for you. The result is a thin and crispy pizza that’s genuinely good for you.

If you like your base on the crispier side, try gently frying the Lo-Dough in a little spray oil prior to topping it. Simply brown it off over a medium high heat in a non stick frying pan, this usually takes 30 secs to a minute each side. Be careful not to burn the Lo-Dough as it can quickly go from brown to burnt. Don't want to fry it off before?
Use a quality passata NOT tomato puree, we find passata makes for the best base. Look for ones with a touch of Italian herbs and olive oil for a richer taste. Tomato puree is too thick and dry and can burn in the oven. If you’ve only got puree available, try diluting it slightly with some water first to loosen it up.
Make sure to spread your tomato passata right to the edge. Lo-Dough pizza is all about enjoying delicious toppings on the lowest calorie base ever created. Make the most of the space and take it to the edge.

Add more flavour to your tomato base by using a rich pasta sauce. We’ve found that by using a tomato based pasta sauce instead of or even together with passata you can get even more flavour into your Lo-Dough pizza without adding too many calories.
A great way to make your pizza as filling and nutritious as possible is to get as many vegetables on there as possible. Red onion, black olives, mushrooms, sweetcorn, cherry tomatoes, courgettes and artichoke are our favourites. Think veggies before meat and your pizzas will be even more guilt-free and nutritious. A drizzle of smokey hot sauce or spots of pesto can also bring a pizza to life.
Lo-Dough works incredibly well baked on a pizza stone. These are readily available and can be used to really crisp up your base and give a true pizzeria finish to your creations. Lo-Dough also works a treat in wood-fired pizza ovens, so don't miss out if you're at a pizza party with a lovely wood-fired oven.
Easy Greek Yogurt Pizza Crust {2 Ingredients, No Yeast!}
This is a quick and easy way to cook a Lo-Dough pizza. The Airfryer is touted as helping you to ‘fry in a healthier way with up to 75% less fat”. Spray the base with a little oil, add your passata and toppings and cook for approximately 8 minutes at 200°C.
Treat the swirls like a pizza: Use a good quality passata and spread to the edges of the Lo-Dough. Add your favourite ingredients and roll it up (as though you’re making a roly poly). Once cooked through, you can now slice into bite sized pieces.

But none hold a flame to the pizza crust in this recipe. Largely because it’s a flour based crust that’s like real-deal thin and crispy pizza crust.
Okay, to be honest, the crust isn’t a terribly novel idea. It seems like almost everyone and their mama have tried a variation of 2-ingredient dough whether it’s in bagel, pretzel, or crust form.

The real magic of this crust recipe is in the baking method. You’ll mix the dough (by hand or in a food processor), roll it out, and bake it in a super hot oven with oil brushed on top to get a crispy bottom and golden brown top before adding the toppings.

If you’d like a short cut, simply add the flour and Greek yogurt to a food processor for 10-15 seconds until crumbly. Then you can use your hands to press everything together.
I use a small hand roller that makes holding one end of the dough easy. You can find the hand roller on my Amazon tools list if you’re interested.
If you don’t have a food processor, you can start mixing everything together with a fork and finish with your hands. Check out the video of my air fryer pizza below for an example of this and pressing the dough with your hands instead of using a rolling pin.

You’ll notice the recipe card has a range of flour to use. I originally published this pizza crust recipe with the higher end. But after making my buffalo chicken empanadas, I wanted to update with the option for both.
There’s only a 1/4 cup or 30 gram difference, but the lower end makes a slightly softer crust (still crispy on the outside) and the higher end makes an extra crispy crust.

This crust is meant to be thin and crispy but if you wanted a bit more rise, you could add a little baking powder like in my cheesy garlic air fryer bread or copycat Domino’s bread twists recipes
Simple Vegan Pizza
This low calorie pizza crust is truly a blank canvas, but I’ve taken the liberty of showing you one of my favorite pizza topping combos of all time.
If you’ve never tried a pink sauce, you’re in for a treat! It’s a mixture of a tomato sauce and, in this case, a lower fat alfredo sauce. You’re left with a creamy, tangy sauce that goes perfectly with the saltiness of pepperoni and spice of jalapeño should you go that route.
For the cheese, I like using a mixture of mozzarella and parmesan. The mozzarella melts really well and creates that stringy cheese pull you’d expect from pizza. And the parmesan, especially the top layer, gives a slight crunch and crisp texture difference. Yum!
Curried Mango Dessert Pizza
Feel free to add any veggies or other toppings you’d like. Keep in mind, however, the crust will be baked ahead of toppings going on. So if you use completely raw veggies, you’ll want to cook them a bit in advance or pull the crust out early to add the toppings.
If you want some more protein topping ideas, check out the creamy egg mixture in my breakfast pizza or my pulled pork pizza. My Instant Pot BBQ pulled chicken and buffalo chicken dip would go great on a pizza as well.

I mentioned an almond flour crust above. It’s a larger crust that will reduce the carbs a bit and create a larger pizza. Here’s what I used:
This was so good. I made it for my husband who hates healthy stuff but he actually loved it. Tip, do not use wax paper, ours stuck right to the crust the first time.
Low Fat Pizza Dough Recipe Needs Only Two Ingredients And It Can Go In The Air Fryer!
I tried this with wholemeal flour to make it a bit better for us. And the came out lovely. I really need to buy a rolling pun to make it thiner but I was really impressed with the cripsy crust. Lovely will be making again. Fitness pal didn't scream at me when I entered it ha!
I love this pizza! My fiancé and I just split the recipe in half to make our own pizzas. I like the works for my toppings and he likes his ff cheese pepperoni and pineapples 🤷🏻♀️ I enjoy a good thing crust pizza every now and then but masons 2 ingredient pizza is good for that more filling dough pizza. All masons pizzas are amazing but it just depends what you’re looking for :)

I am a huge fan of pizza... when dieting it’s so difficult to fit in foods like pizza that normally come with tons of calories & carbs. This recipe was super simple and tasted amazing! Definitely fixed the pizza
