Healthy Bbq Chicken Pizza
Two:Pour in the olive oil and tepid water. Mix in with a spoon then use your hands to bring the dough together.
💡Pro Tip - use tepid water or lukewarm water that is neither hot nor cold to the touch. This will help activate the yeast.Water that is too hot will kill the yeast.
Three:Knead the dough for 1 minute on a lightly floured work surface before placing it back in the bowl (covered with clingfilm or plastic wrap) to prove for 45 minutes at room temperature (you could speed up proving by putting the bowl in a warm place like an airing cupboard).
Bbq Chicken Flatbread (20 Minute Meal)
💡Pro Tip - you can use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment to knead the dough (on a low speed setting), but I like doing it by hand!
Four:Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface or cutting board to roughly 30 cm diameter and place on a pizza stone or baking tray. Leave to rest for 5 minutes whilst you get the toppings ready.
Serve the pizza at your next pizza night with sides of garlic bread, dough balls, pizza fries, and a crisp green salad!
Wholemeal Bbq Chicken & Red Onion Pizza
Store: Pizza is best eaten hot, fresh from the oven. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat: Leftover pizza slices can be eaten cold (I often pack a slice in lunchboxes) or reheated in a hot oven for a few minutes.
Yes you can! Simply substitute the strong white bread flour for regular plain flour. Due to the lower protein content of plain flour, the texture of the pizza dough will be slightly different, but still as tasty!

Barbecue Chicken Pizza Recipe
I first created this recipe with a previous client (Jack Daniel’s®) and I legit haven’t stopped making it since. It’s one of my favourite pizza recipes to this day and I can’t wait to share it with you! Follow me…
Look I’m gonna be honest with you. At heart, I’ve always been a tomato base pizza kinda guy. Ever since I was a young warthog it’s the way I’ve made them (and the way I’ve ordered them 😏). But in recent times a BBQ base has been my go-to. That sweet, sticky, smoky goodness slathered underneath melted cheese? I’m telling you folks, it’s so addictive.
Tomato base there’ll always be a place for you in my heart, but today it’s all about the BBQ. Here’s why you’re going to fall in love with this BBQ Chicken Pizza:
Grilled Pizza: All You Need To Know!
One of the key ingredients in this pizza is of course the chicken. As such, we want to let it shine! Here we’ll be using boneless skinless chicken breast, seasoning it up and frying it until lightly charred.
Yep! Just allow to completely cool and tightly store in the fridge until needed. Bring to room temp before slicing and adding to the pizza.
You can definitely use pre-cooked chicken! I still recommend combining it with the seasoning though. Feel free to add a dash of bbq sauce too if it’s a little dry.

Process shots: add chicken breast to chopping board (photo 1), slice in half through the centre (photo 2), add smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper and olive oil (photo 3), coat chicken (photo 4), add to pan (photo 5), fry both sides until lightly charred/cooked through the centre (photo 6).
When it comes to making the pizza dough, I use my No Yeast Pizza Dough (just because it’s so quick and easy!), but you can use store-bought dough or even a store-bought pizza base!

Process shots: roll out dough and add to lightly floured pizza tray (photo 1), spread over BBQ sauce (photo 2), add cheese (photo 3), add toppings (photo 4).
Homemade Bbq Chicken Pizza Recipe
For best results you want your pizza dough at room temp, I usually take it out of the fridge around 1 hour beforehand.
You want the oven roasting hot before you add the pizza. The general rule of thumb is the hotter the better for pizza!
Make sure you evenly space out the toppings and hide any particularly thin/small bits of chicken underneath cheese so it doesn’t char too much and go chewy.
Barbecue Chicken Pizza Recipe: How To Make It
If you want extra BBQ sauce then drizzle some more over at the end! For me, there’s ALWAYS gotta be a pot of Garlic and Herb Dip to go alongside (and that goes for any kind of pizza 😛). This pizza is awesome to share between two as it is, but you could add some extra sides:
A) Pizza Dough - You can use my Easy No Yeast Pizza Dough for this recipe. Failing that just use store-bought dough, or a store-bought 12 pizza base. If using dough it needs to be room temp for best results, I generally take it out the fridge around an hour beforehand.
B) Can I use cooked chicken? - You can definitely use pre cooked chicken! I still recommend combining with the seasoning though. Feel free to add a dash of bbq sauce too if it's a little dry. A roughly packed cup of shredded or cubed chicken should suffice.

C) Oven Temp - Be sure to get your oven right up to temperature before adding the pizza. The general rule of thumb with cooking pizzas is the hotter the oven the better! Just keep an eye on things so it doesn't burn.

D) Low-Moisture Mozzarella - I recommend packaged shredded mozzarella, just because it's dry and doesn't add excess moisture. If you've only got fresh mozzarella in brine, just very thinly slice it and thoroughly pat it dry with paper towels.
E) Leftovers - Allow to cool then tightly store in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat as you prefer, I usually wrap in foil and reheat in the oven at 350F/180C until hot and bubbly. You can also add to a pan and fry over medium heat for a couple of mins, then add a splash of water to the pan and pop and lid on until the cheese goes gooey. Fail that just pop it in the microwave, or, dare I say, eat it cold!

BBQ Chicken Pizza is total comfort food and a takeaway pizza favourite, but really simple to make at home and can even use leftovers. Kids and adults will LOVE this pizza, and it's perfect for a movie night.
I have never met a pizza that I didn't like, and I have never met a person that doesn't like pizza. Pizza is always a winner, and it always goes down well in our house. This one is a great way to use up leftover chicken too.
Domino's Texas Bbq Pizza
This BBQ Chicken Pizza might just be our favourite, because although it is really simple, it is so fully of flavour. It's usually one of the most expensive on the takeaway pizza menu, so save some money and make it yourself.
