Whole30 Pizza Recipes

Whole30 Pizza Recipes

If you’re doing a Whole30, pizza is out for the month. But I’ve got something that’ll help tamp down those cravings: nomtastic Whole30 Pizza Alternatives—recipes that evoke the flavors of pizza, but won’t leave you feeling bloated or icky afterwards!

—they’re alternatives. For me, this distinction is significant—I don’t think you’re well served to use paleo flours to recreate a pizza dough during your dietary reset because that’s what the Whole30 folks call “SWYPO.”

Whole30

Instead, these recipes are all made with meat/fish and veggies, and they’re simply options and alternatives that evoke your favorite pizza toppings. All of these recipes are hits with my whole family and my picky kids like them, too. If you want to make a pizza with an alternative flour or cauliflower crust, that’s cool—but make sure to wait until your Whole30 is over!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Meatza: This is one of my favorite Whole30 Pizza Alternatives—a sausage or seasoned meat crust with your favorite pizza toppings! Serve this delicious low carb, Whole30, keto, and paleo-friendly pizza alternative with a big green salad and a simple extra virgin olive oil and vinegar dressing! (Psst! Leave off the nut cheese if you have an unhealthy emotional relationship with cheese, use cheese as a comfort food, or find cheese is a trigger food for other unhealthy cravings.)

Poached Cod and Tomato Sauce: I know the idea of poached white fish in marinara sauce doesn’t even come close to resembling pizza, but Ollie (my picky youngest son) happily gobbles it up and calls it “pizza fish.” Any super fast and simple recipe that makes my kids eat more fish is a win in my book!

Italian Sausage + Kale Casserole: This Whole30-friendly casserole is a comforting supper that will please the whole family! Eat it now, or slice it up and toss it in the fridge for the coming week’s pack-and-go lunches!

Hello! My name is Michelle Tam, and I love to eat. I think about food all the time. It borders on obsession. I’ve always loved the sights and smells of the kitchen. My mother was (and is) an excellent cook, and as a kid, I was her little shadow as she prepared supper each night. From her, I gained a deep, abiding love for magically transforming pantry items into mouth-watering family meals. This Whole30 Pizza recipe uses a cauliflower crust as the base and is topped with tomato sauce, prosciutto and arugula and is perfect for your weekly pizza night.

The Whole30® Program Rules

You read that right—yes, you can have pizza during whole30! …with some modifications of course. This whole30 pizza recipe will leave you feeling satisfied and SO happy, because pizza = happiness.

The one thing I’m currently craving while doing this second whole30 is….. everything. I’m craving bread and sugar and all my normal foods, one of them being pizza. I know so many people work pizza into their weekly meal plan, and I don’t want anyone to have to go an entire month without their beloved pizza night. This whole30 pizza recipe is surprisingly filling despite the fact that the crust is made of cauliflower.

Have you tried cauliflower crust pizza? I know it’s been all the rage for at least the past year, probably longer. Truthfully, I don’t eat pizza often enough to feel like I need to sub out regular pizza crust. But, now that this cauliflower crust has made its debut into my life, I’m thinking that I might need to start a weekly pizza tradition for myself.

Sausage Pizza Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes {paleo & Whole30}

Tip: buy bagged cauliflower rice if it’s available to you. This will save you time and you’ll be left with less dishes in the end.

Tip: ALWAYS use parchment paper when making a cauliflower crust. This will make it way easier to transfer the pizza onto your plate and assure that the crust doesn’t stick to the pan.

Cauliflower rice, egg, almond flour, herbs, and some salt are the ingredients in this cauliflower crust. You’ll stir everything together and then use your hands or a spatula to form the “dough” into a circular crust.

Sweet Potato Pizza Bites (paleo, Whole30)

Once the crust is made, you’ll bake the crust in the oven for about 15 minutes. Then, you’ll add on your appropriate toppings. Available pizza toppings include but are not limited to: tomato sauce, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, really any kind of vegetable, and any kind of meat too, so you really shouldn’t feel deprived.

Pepperoni

For this recipe, I opted to use roasted garlic marinara sauce as the base, and then I topped it with prosciutto and arugula. I wanted to keep things simple and show that you don’t need a ton of toppings for this to be a flavorful recipe, though of course you can add more toppings.

After you decide on your toppings, you’ll add them on top of the baked crust then place the pizza bake into the oven to bake for an additional 10 minutes. Last, you slice it and eat up!

Spaghetti Squash Pizza Pasta

Note: I also decided to whip up a quick sauce while the pizza was in the oven, because I'm all about dips! I made Eat the Gains whole30 buffalo sauce and it was amazing!

I hope this whole30 pizza recipe makes its way into your life, even if you’re not doing whole30. Trust me when I say I had low expectations for this recipe—I mean, who actually wants to eat cauliflower crust?—but it surprised me in the best way possible. Whole30 Pizza Alternatives

In our house, Friday is pretty much always pizza night! But last Friday I honestly didn’t even realize what day it was. That is SO unlike me, by the way, because even though I might forget my name sometimes, I’m

You might be thinking that eggs are only for breakfast. Well, of course they’re the classic breakfast food and a great way to feed a crowd a delicious, healthy morning meal!

We eat eggs for lunch and dinner all the time! It might take a little getting use to, but frittatas are a great way to repurpose leftover veggies into a delightful family-friendly meal.

Tomato Paste Pizza Sauce, No Cook Recipe (vegan, Gluten Free, Paleo, Whole30 )

I really like that you can easily adapt your frittata to lots of different dietary restrictions: Low Carb/Keto, Paleo, Gluten Free, Whole30, Weight Watchers, and more.

The short answer? ANYTHING YOU WANT. I’m serious, you guys. This is why frittatas are so awesome! Add leftover vegetables, meat, herbs, etc.

But the long(er) answer? Just think of whatever flavors you enjoy together, pairing vegetables, proteins, cheeses, herbs, like you would in other dishes. The frittata makes the perfect vessel for combining them all into one simple, and easy dish.

Low Carb Pizza Frittata {paleo, Low Carb, Whole30, Gf, Low Cal}

In this recipe, combining classic pizza ingredients makes for a super awesome Italian frittata, and it gives you all delicious pepperoni pizza flavors you love at any time of day!

Needless to say, my son was a little surprised to see eggs on the table on pizza night, but he really enjoyed it! We

Sprinkle the frittata with 1/2 – 2/3 cup of full fat mozzarella cheese. Place it under the broiler just until it melts and starts to bubble. The ooey gooey cheese will take this thing to the next level!

I make frittatas in a skillet on the stovetop, but you can absolutely make this your frittata in the oven! Once you’ve sautéed the peppers on the stovetop, add the other ingredients and bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, until the eggs are set.

Enjoy this
